Liz Dronfield

Liz specialises in cases concerning children. She acts for parents and children in a wide variety of cases, including allegations of parent-fabricated illness and allegations of non-accidental injury.

She has been instructed by the official solicitor to represent parents who are under a disability. Liz has acted for children who are judged to be competent to make their own decisions and taken instructions directly from these children in complex cases. She has been appointed in private law cases to represent children where they have been made party to the proceedings. Liz is also experienced at representing all parties in adoption cases.

She is a member of the family solicitors group Resolution and is on the Committee of the Association of Lawyers for Children. She has been a member of the Law Society Children Panel since 1995 and is a member of the Law Society Family Law Panel.

Liz studied Social Administration at Nottingham University and has a Diploma in Criminology from Cambridge.

Before becoming a family lawyer, she worked as a researcher in the field of drug use and addiction at the Institute of Psychiatry and also worked in law centres before qualifying as a solicitor in 1990. She was a partner in another London firm and joint head of the family department before joining Bindmans in November 2004.
