Children
The law relating to children is aimed at promoting children’s welfare and should not, on the whole, treat parents differently according to their partnership status or sexuality. Over recent years there has been a lot of progress in addressing the remaining anomalies which treated lesbian and gay parents unfairly. Some issues have required changes to legislation whereas others have been addressed through the application of the law in individual cases which have developed the law and changed judicial attitudes to gay parenting. The Bindmans family law team have been involved in many of these cases and have a great deal of expertise in working in this area. Click
